Time and time again citizens become disgruntled from the results of not participating in the election process.
Case and Point: Jessie LeBlanc is a judge on the 23rd Judicial District Court in Louisiana. She was elected to the position on March 24, 2012. She was re-elected in 2014 for a term beginning on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.

As of the census of 2000 the racial makeup of the village was 29.01% White, 69.83% African American, 0.44% Native American, and 0.73% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.29% of the population.
I am not going to be overly critical of the fine people of Assumption Parish Louisiana, but I must ask if a respectful portion of the 68% black population voted.(?) If they did participate, were they aware they were re-electing a bigoted white judge.(?)
One element about Louisiana politics that continues to baffle me is how a state that has a large contingent of African-Americans rarely reflects its citizenry in the upper-chambers of governance.
I’m sorry, but I must admit when I visit NOLA, I am deeply saddened by the lack of actual African-American owned businesses. It’s deeply troubling in my estimation. The street car on Canal visits all of these black front, white owned businesses.
Getting back to the disparaging voter apathy, Assumption Parish is just the tip of the ice-berg when it comes to voter suppression and apathy in Louisiana.
I know I veered off-topic somewhat, but you got my drift. Surely the voters in Assumption Parish vote their best interest and Louisiana’s 23rd Judicial District Judge Jessie Leblanc was not in African-American’s best interests’.

Please take your vote serious by making sure you and yours are registered to vote. Also make sure to vote for all categories on the ballet, and lastly vote your interests’. If you don’t vote, it’s guaranteed the results of what Assumption Parish is suffering will woefully contribute to you and your community’s demise.
